The 2006 Nissan Altima is another model in a long line of excellent cars that Nissan has produced under the name of Altima. This model has been the company’s bestseller for some time now, and for good reason.
The Altima is available in both 4-Cylinder and V6 engines, depending on whether the customer prefers efficiency or a little extra power. The car is available in several different transmission configurations, including a 5 speed manual transmission, a four speed automatic on the smaller engines, a five speed automatic on the V6, and a six speed manual transmission on the sporty SE-R.
The SE-R is definitely the most performance-geared 2006 Nissan Altima. Its V6 engine comes in at 260 hp with the standard six-speed transmission, giving a regular sedan a little bit of extra kick that some drivers crave.
The Altima continues to be rated one of the best buys in its class.
